It was a cold and rainy Sunday and we were booked in for brunch. I wasn’t sure I wanted to leave the house, but brunch is always a good incentive. Corazon is cute, cosy and casual – perfect if you’re looking for a laidback meal.
I always find Mexican food to be quite vegan and vegetarian friendly. I’m glad to report that Corazon was no different. We started off with my favourite – guacamole! I then tried parts of the Huevos Rancheros and the OC tacos (vegan friendly).
The Huevos Rancheros were completely different to other versions that I have seen in the past. This version just felt a lot more fresh and less cheesy – it may be that the cheese is served on top as opposed to melted as part of the dish? Not sure what it was – but it was a very good Huevos Rancheros and a very hearty way to start the day off. The OC tacos were made with a carrot and fennel puree, shaved coconut and chipotle oil. They were tasty enough but I’m not sure they would have filled me up on their own. I’d recommend ordering some sides along with it including the Breakfast Hash, Esquites (grilled sweetcorn) or the Coleslaw – all of them full of flavour.
Simple and laidback – Corazon is good for families, catching up with friends or even having a casual brunch date – enjoy!
