Arthur Hooper’s near London Bridge had recently launched their new vegan menu so I thought it was only polite to try it out. Right near Borough Market, Arthur Hooper’s is nestled amongst others restaurants and bars which gives off a lovely buzz. The restaurant is small but modern with a lovely display of wines across the back wall.
In addition to the fact that they have a separate vegan menu, their main menu also has a generous number of vegetarian dishes – I was impressed already. I ordered a mix of options from both menus and sat back and chatted whilst we waited for the food to arrive.
The highlight of the meal has to be the Burrata, samphire and almond salad. Normally as a vegetarian, I get bored pretty quickly with the burrata option at most restaurants but I have to say this was delicious! The samphire and almonds helped to give it a completely different texture and I just couldn’t get enough.
Don’t worry though, there were plenty of vegan options as well if you don’t eat cheese. We also had the harissa butter beans with charred tender stem broccoli, the paccheri with tomato sauce and the sautéed rosemary new potatoes – all were simple but tasted wonderful.
I’d recommend Arthur Hooper’s to anyone that is looking for a fuss-free, veggie friendly, tasty meal where they can also enjoy some lovely wine – if that sounds like you, then enjoy!
