One Saturday afternoon and we had ventured North towards Stoke Newington for a little change in scenery. Lucky for us it was a warm, sunny day and we wanted to make the most! Andi’s is a lovely little establishment on Church Street which was exactly what we were looking for on this occasion.
The staff at Andi’s were really friendly and although there wasn’t any space outside when we arrived, they let us have a few drinks, order, and moved us outside as soon as they could. Whilst surrounded by the lovely garden furniture, we devoured our Bloody Mary’s – warning: they had quite a kick to them so be careful.
Now to the food.. from the brunch menu, I ordered one of their energy bowls. This was completely customisable and you could choose between brown rice, quinoa or bulgur wheat to accompany the vegetables. You could then choose what protein to add on top – for us vegetarians, there was a choice of poached eggs, fried halloumi or tofu. Finally, you could choose what dressing you wanted.
Personally, I went for the combination of quinoa, fried halloumi and whipped feta herb yoghurt dressing – and I thought it was marvellous! Amongst the vegetables you had some smashed avocado, sweet potato, black beans, cauliflower, kale (amongst others) so this was a great way to get in your “5 a day”. The energy bowl was very filling and it certainly kept me going all afternoon.
Andi’s was charming, friendly and a wonderful place to enjoy a tasty brunch – hope you enjoy it too!
